Asperitas was founded in 2024 by a group of experts with a clear and ambitious goal. We aim to become a leading development and manufacturing partner when you need rugged and advanced electronics solutions that just work. Combining the conventional aspects of rigor and ruggedness needed for military applications with the speed of innovation, agility and cost of the commercial/industrial sector building on the best of COTS.
Göran Nordahl received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from KTH in 2005 and has been developing advanced electronics throughout his life. Professionally, he has founded and operated two small electronics product development consultancy firms, and has also guest lectured on improvised electronic warfare at FOI (Swedish Defence Research Agency). Notable projects include a system for distributing target data for artillery, a UPS system for a mobile radar station and UWB positioning systems. His key competencies include electronics design, layout, antenna design, power, embedded development, EMI/EMC, digital electronics, simulations, and rapid prototyping.
Niklas Casaril received his M.SC in Physics and Engineering from Chalmers in 2005 and has worked with advanced embedded software engineering, research and development both in industry and at NICTA. Niklas has also worked as an military-EW instructor with the Swedish government. Key projects of note are UWB communication, computer vision, processing, sensing, and positioning, medical sensing, and UPS for mobile radar. Niklas areas of expertise include embedded software development, algorithms development, and complex problem solving.
Fredrik Broberg is a seasoned mechanical engineer who has had multiple roles throughout his career. Recently, he has worked as a consultant, primarily developing medical devices, rebreathers, and wheelchairs. Prior to that, he was the lead mechanical design engineer at Aqeri, where he developed ruggedized COTS IT equipment for industrial and military applications. His areas of expertise include mechanical engineering and design, 3D CAD, thermal management, shock and vibration analysis, as well as design for manufacturability, assembly, and more.
Mathias Hemberg is a very experienced and passionate engineer who has been developing electronics since childhood. He started his first development company at 16 and was a pioneer in CCTV development. He is also an experienced RF engineer and has developed a wide range of analog and digital RF Products/Systems. Areas of expertise also include adaptive hybrid noise cancelling, acoustics, thermal and mechanical engineering and simulations as well as system level engineering. He was a cofounder of PCQT who pioneered the use of COTS equipment for military applications by ruggedizing them in new MilStd cases with dedicated reliability/power/thermal/EMI/RFI management.
